Choose nutritious post-play snacks

After an hour of play, kids love treats. But oftentimes they're rewarded with sugary snacks and high calorie drinks. Next time, try serving juice or milk instead of soda. In place of chips, you could try carrots or celery sticks, sunflower seeds or almonds, cheese sticks, or low-fat yogurt. Or if they like something sweet, try bananas, apples, oranges, raisins, or sugar-free ice pops that you can make yourself in the freezer.
